On this day 4 years ago, we lost a man very close to all of us here at Innova: founder, creative director, vice president and teammate Steve Cohen.
Steve was insatiable for knowledge and an indomitable creative spirit. He learned Japanese for one of our first international clients. He'd break into "Jesus Christ Superstar" on business trips (which is even funnier knowing he grew up in Jewish household). He was a non-stop hobbyist who took frequent flights of fancy and you were thankful when he invited you to follow along.
Sadly, the only thing that could stop him is also the same thing that took him from all of us. On Nov. 16, 2006, Steve Cohen passed away suddenly in his country home.

AMES, Iowa, July 6, 2011 – For the fifth consecutive year,
Great Scott! It appears today's advertisers are taking a cue from Doc Brown and going back in time to promote their products. Well, kind of.
Take, for instance, a copywriter obsessed with, say, 1990s TV shows. He might have every episode of Family Matters memorized, but unless he can find a clever way to work “Did I do that?” into his hydroelectric battery charger sell sheet, he probably won’t get a chance to write about his obsession at work. That’s the downside.
This month, we’re lacing up our running shoes for a good – no, great cause. Folks from Innova, Sigler and Signify have formed a team for this year’s

As an Innova family member (by actual DNA, even), I’ve had a unique view of the company over the years. It's been fun watching the company grow, and every time I come back it seems something new and exciting is happening. I once again find myself here at Innova, spending the next month helping out in the copywriting department. It's been interesting to get an inside view of a company I’d primarily only known from a few tales around the dinner table. This blog gives me a chance to share some of the things I've seen "behind the curtain"...
The goal of the remodel was to create a modern office feel, while retaining the building’s historic look and integrity. Tour Innova today and little touches of the past still shine through: the tin ceiling is intact, original wood floors were brought back to life, and the upstairs offices are in their initial configuration, with refurbished doors and trim.
