DES MOINES, Iowa, November 23, 2010 – Jolly Holiday Lights opens today, kicking off the attraction’s 15th year in Des Moines. For the past seven, this benefit for the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Iowa has relied on Sigler Companies and its business units to brand and promote it, helping Jolly Holiday Lights become a family charitable tradition in the community.

Over the years, Sigler Companies has donated graphic and interactive design, public and media relations services, and printed products to make the event possible. Enhanced branding, marketing and publicity for the event have helped raise funds to help the state’s chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation fulfill its mission. More than 2,300 wishes have been granted for Iowa children with life-threatening medical conditions since the Foundation’s inception in 1987.

Sigler Companies and its business units each year design the Jolly Holiday Lights event posters, brochures, direct mail pieces, advertisements, freestanding inserts, event tickets, apparel and the large-scale banners used at Water Works Park. A Facebook and Twitter presence is also set up for the event. Sigler Companies also provides media relations assistance, sources promotional items, develops the event’s media kit, and helps secure in-kind donations to ensure the event’s success and longevity. In all, Sigler Companies donates an average of 285-325 hours in assistance and support of Jolly Holiday Lights in Des Moines.

The 15th Annual Jolly Holiday Lights will be a celebration of wishes granted over the years. Visitors to the event at Water Works Park in Des Moines can enjoy more than 100 lighted holiday displays along a 3.5 mile route, all from the comfort of their vehicles. Jolly Holiday Lights attracts an average of 120,000 visitors annually. On average, it takes 900 vehicles driving through the display track to raise enough funds to grant one wish. Each year the event strives to raise $300,000, enough to grant about 35 wishes statewide.
