Innova Ideas & Services Garners Honors for Work on Behalf of Two Children’s Charities
DES MOINES, Iowa, May 11, 2011 – Innova Ideas & Services recently was honored by two philanthropic organizations for charitable contributions by the agency and one of its executives.
Variety – The Children’s Charity recognized Susan Hatten, Innova’s Senior Business Development Executive, with a Presidential Citation at the 2011 Variety World Conference on April 28 in Chicago. Variety International also presented Innova the 2011 Corporate Award at a dinner reception April 29.
Separately, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Iowa presented Innova a Big Dipper Award at the charity’s Des Moines gala May 6 at the Prairie Meadows Conference Center in Altoona.
- Hatten was one of only five individuals worldwide awarded a Presidential Citation by Variety International. Variety Club of Iowa nominated her as an “unsung hero” who quickly has become a “go-to” person for Variety volunteers. Hatten serves as a board member, volunteer, fundraiser, recruiter and leader for Young Variety, the membership group for 20- and 30-somethings.
- Innova received the Variety International Corporate Award for its in-kind donation of marketing, advertising, creative and communication services to support U.S. Variety’s national mobility initiative, Variety Kids on the Go! The mobility program provides bikes, helmets and locks to children who have never owned their own bike; specialized bikes for children with special needs; wheelchairs; and Variety Vans. Innova collaborated with Variety executives to design a customizable marketing platform for U.S. chapters to use locally, and is providing social media marketing, training and monitoring.
- Innova was presented the state Make-A-Wish Foundation award for seven years of donated branding, marketing and publicity services for Jolly Holiday Lights, a family charitable tradition that benefits the Foundation. The Big Dipper Award is presented for securing the highest dollar value of corporate sponsorship for Make-A-Wish. Innova each year develops a new look and marketing materials for the attraction, and works with media outlets to secure in-kind promotional spots and news coverage.
“We have been very fortunate to be honored recently,” said Beth Cross, president of Sigler Companies, Innova’s parent company. “Charitable contributions are Innova’s way of living our corporate values of positivity and worthwhile work. It’s humbling to receive these awards on top of the rich rewards we gain from supporting programs that help children overcome challenges and reach their life potential.”
